How To Make Christmas Paper Puppets
Craft Supplies:
- Free Printable Christmas Puppet Templates (Get yours at the end of this post.)
- White Cardstock
- Split Pins / Brads / Paper Fasteners
- Scissors
- Colouring Materials; Pens, Pencil Crayons etc.
Printable Christmas Puppets Step By Step Instructions
Step 1 – Download and print the free puppets. You can use ordinary paper but we recommend a heavier print paper or cardstock to make the puppets more durable. (If you wanted to really make them last, you could always laminate the pieces after they’re colored in.)
Step 2 – Choose your favourite puppet character and carefully colour it in. You can use any coloring materials you like; pens, pencils, wax crayons, paints etc. You could even add some bio-glitter if you fancy a bit of Christmas sparkle and bling!
Step 3 – Carefully cut out the Christmas character’s pieces. For instance, Father Christmas or Santa has a head, body, two arms and two legs.
Step 4 – Assemble your puppet by joining the pieces with split pins / brads / paper fasteners. You can either just push them through the marked dots or use a single hole punch to create little holes first.
Step 5 – Now unleash your imagination and bring your Christmas puppets to life. They are super fun to play with. You can use them as they are or mount them onto popsicle stick handles. Give them a wiggle to make their arms and legs wave around!
