How To Make Hairy Spiders
– Print the free spider craft template onto printer cardstock. (Get yours at the bottom of this post.)
– Colour in any parts of the template that you want to. We just did the legs, mouth and eyes as we planned to decorate the body with chopped yarn.
– Cut out all the template pieces.
– To chop up lots of little bits of yarn to make your sider hairy, start by loosely wrapping yarn around your first two fingers.
– Then slide the lop off of your fingers and whilst holding it in on hand snip through all the loops to give you lots of strands all the same length. Next hold the strands together and snip them into shorter sections.
– Apply glue to the large section of the spider’s body and sprinkle on the chopped yarn pieces.
– Fold the body pieces along the dotted lines and put glue on the tab. Glue the two ends together to make an arch with the fur on the top.
– Fold along the dotted line of the legs to make a tab for gluing. You can either leave the legs straight or fold them in half like we have.
– Glue the spider’s 8 legs onto the bottom of the body. Four on each side.
– Finally glue on the eyes, mouth and fangs.
We hope you enjoy this printable spider craft as much as we did. Be sure to share photos of the spiders you make on our Instagram or Facebook page–we can’t wait to see them!
